You put in all the hard work, creating the perfect photos and videos. Now it’s time to unlock your Instagram accounts full potential.
Ever noticed on your Instagram feed that you’re shown the content you’re most likely to engage with? That when you like someone’s post, you usually tend to see more of them on your feed? That’s the Instagram algorithm showing you posts it thinks you care about.
While nobody except Instagram employees knows fully how the Instagram algorithm works in 2020, there are still ways to help increase your engagement. And the best way to do that is to that is ask for it!
That’s right! We don’t mean you start writing captions such as “Please like my photo”, or “#Like4Like”.
Instead, how about asking a question to your audience in your latest Instagram post. People love a chance to respond. A simple example of that in action is “Share or eat alone?” on this post, sparking a large amount of comments and engagement.
Other examples could be:
“Caption this image”
“Left or right”
Another way is to get your followers to tag their friends in the post. You could even turn it into a competition, rewarding one of the commenters at random. This is a great way to not only increase engagement, but gain new followers too!
The same method applies when it comes to Instagram stories. There are lots of built-in features and options available to edit a story before you post it.
Try adding a poll, questions, or even a quiz to increase engagement…
Remember, the more an Instagram user engages with your posts and stories, the more of your content they will see each time you create more!
Lastly, be social! After all it is a social media platform. By this we mean interacting with your followers on a personal level.
If a follower comments on your photo, why not reply back to the comment, or at least like it. Show them some love! Build a connection with your audience and make them feel important.
You could even go a step further and head over to their profile, liking or commenting, or even sending a direct message.
